SEAA Under 15 Championships

We had two under 15 competitors go to Lea Valley for these champs. Here's Ken's report.

We had two under 15 competitors go to Lea Valley on Saturday and good to see Nathan Pickering come away with a silver medal. Nathan finished second in the 300m with an indoor club record time of 40.82s. This was a gutsy run which his fighting spirit won the medal.

Earlier in the day he had competed in the 60m qualifying from the heats as 7th fastest (7.83s) and then also 7th in the semi-finals with a time of 7.82s. This just missed out on the 6 final places but he would have needed a personal best to qualify.

The other NVH athlete on the day was under 15, Kelsie Ellis. She also felt the effects of more than one event in the same day, running her 800m heat in a time of 2:39.91. Being a tactical heat and thus never stood any chance of being a fastest loser.

Earlier she had also competed in the 200m getting through the heats finishing second with a time of 28.39s and the running 29.05 to finish 5th in her semi-final.
