Watford AC Open Meeting

13/05/2015
Four of Nene Valley Harriers'finest were in action at last Wednesday's Watford AC open track meeting.

Cat Foley has carried her fine form over from the cross country season, and was targeting a fast time in the 3000 metres. She did not disappoint, running a PB of 10:06:08 in wet and windy conditions, which were far from conducive to speedy track running.

A trio of up and coming young Harrier's ran in highly competitive 1500 metres races, with James McCrae coming within 1 second of his PB in a time of 4:00:98. McCrae is currently ranked 29th in the country at under 20 level for the distance.

Alex Hampson came home in 4:07:59, and though disappointed to be 7 seconds outside his PB set on the same track just 4 weeks previously. Hampson can take heart from the fact that, as a 17 year old, he is ranked just one place behind McCrae in the national under 20 standings.

18 year old Jake Richardson, crossed the line in 4:25:58 just 5 days after securing an excellent 5th place in the Langtoft 10k.
