Nene Valley Harrier Charlotte Taylor achieved what many athletes can only dream about on Saturday night (May 10) when she lined up alongside Olympian Jo Pavey and former and current European Cross Country champions Fionnuala Britton and Sophie Duarte in the Highgate Harriers 10,000m Night of the PBs at Parliament hill track.

The 20 year-old Warwick University student from Spalding finished in 16th place in 35:22.42, and was fourth in her U23 age group. It was her first attempt at the distance on the track, and her time places her 22nd in the country for all age categories this year, and third U23. She is also the reigning U20 World Triathlon champion.

The women’s race was won by four-time Olympian Pavey in a new UK V40 record of 32:11.04, and the men’s event was won by fast-improving Aldershot, Farnham & District’s Andy Vernon in 28:26.59.
