Although only a small contingent attended for Nene Valley Harriers the windy and hilly course provided the environment for good performances. Jonathon Friend kicked it off again finishing 3rd in the under 11 boys race, two good scores for him in the overall league position.

Katie Hutchinson followed her win at Skegness with another good win, running away from the rest of the field to win comfortably in the under 15 girls event. She showed excellent strength pushing hard to catch an under 17 lady due to her not realising she was not in the same race. One more win at the next league meeting will give her the league title.

Emily Grant running her first race for NVH ran well to finish 8th in the under 13 girls and Oliver Hutchinson got his second consecutive 9th place in the under 13 boys league. Nicky Morgan 5th and a returning Steph Beavis in the ladies would have been good if they had a third athlete to make up the team. This would have been good scoring after the ladies team win last week.

The men's race was a big disappointment for Nene Valley Harriers in terms of team effort after a maximum score last week only 100m sprinter Adam Caress signalled his return after injury wit a fine 42 place finish.
