East Anglian League 1, Cambridge, 16th May 2010 - By Ken Maggs

Due to a clash with the National Young Athletes League reducing our younger age groups and the Southern Men's League on the Saturday reducing the available senior athletes just a handful competed in the first East Anglian League fixture at Cambridge.

That said there were a number of notable performances.  The senior men's weakened team sits third in the provisional league table.  Behind the two teams which beat them at Cambridge and just above their Peterborough counterparts.

Senior lady, Andrea Jenkins threw the hammer 49.95m to not only win the event but break her own East Anglian League record.  Andrea also won with her throws in the shot, discus and javelin to be top scorer on the day.  There were no club records on the day but a number of personal bests which considering the strong gusty wind which effected athletes differently was creditable.  Bradley Allan had a tight competition in the 600m for under 11s winning the last 100m sprint in creditable time of 2:00.6.

David Bush equalled his personal best in the 200m despite suffering from glandular fever for the last few weeks.  he then threw well with the senior weights despite being under 20.
