Athletics: Super Simon records four wins but Harriers only finish fourth at Luton

SIMON Achurch produced four throws wins as a depleted Nene Valley Harriers side finished fourth at the East Anglian League at Luton.
Achurch's performance, supported by a couple of B-string wins for Sam Lawrence, saw the senior men finish second but in the younger age groups a clash with the National Young Athletes League meant the city side were not at their best.
The throws also went well for the club's women with Andrea Jenkins and Kelly Lawrence producing five wins between them.

CHRIS Wright of Nene Valley Harriers smashed his personal best when clocking 8.40.07 in the 3000m B race at the Watford Open Graded Meeting while clubmate James Vernau finished 17th in 9.15.52.
Ed Hewitt was runner-up in the 1500m F race in 4.29.20 with Josh Lunn fifth in 4.31.67.
MICHELLE Tweed of Nene Valley Harriers finished runner-up in the 200m E race at the Corby Open Graded Meeting in 27.1. She was also fifth in the 100m F race in 13.6.
Clubmate Chris Cooper was runner-up in the 3000m in 9.48.8 and four days later ran 9.43.34 for ninth in the Midland Under 20 Men's Championships at Birmingham.
